Artists Open Studios

Briggait is part of Wasps Studios and contains 45 studios, offices, large courtyard and exhibition spaces. The building used to be a fish market for over 100 years and had been empty for 20 years before the Briggait was renovated in 2009.

On the 12th and 13th October 2013, artists at the Briggait opened their studios as part of Wasps Open Studios 2013. I went along today, spoke to couple of artists and took few photos. I enjoyed taking in all the details from brushes and collection of fruit stickers to books (to some of the artists’ surprise) and from back of canvases to floors covered in paint stains.

There are also a couple of photos from Sarah J Stanley’s exhibition.
